ISLAMABAD, Sep 27 (APP): Caretaker Federal Minister for Health Dr. Nadeem Jan met with the ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki on Wednesday and discussed matters related to the health sector.
The minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have historically strong brotherly relations.
The Saudi ambassador assured that Saudi Arabia will fully cooperate with Pakistan in the welfare projects of its people.
The minister shared that Pakistan is all set to host the first-ever Global Health Security Summit later this year in Islamabad reflecting the strongest commitment of the country at the highest level to the Global Health Security Agenda.
The Saudi ambassador highly appreciated the initiative of holding the Global Health Security Summit.
The minister shared that coordinated steps are being taken to ensure an uninterrupted supply of medicines across the country on a permanent basis.
The ambassador was informed that although Pakistan is manufacturing vaccines there is a need for transfer of technology to enhance capacity.
He added the ministry is looking forward to starting collaboration with friendly countries.
The minister said that steps are being taken to establish Pharma Park in the country.
He said that through the transfer of technology, the production of molecules will improve the supply of medicines.
